Mimicking natural patterns on a domestic commercial scale insures moral and ethical boundaries to human cleverness. We seek to use natural predators to protect against insects and disease. We plant native grasses and shrubs to help cleanse the earth from past herbicide use and to protect our vegetables from unnatural contamination. We collect rainfall and do all that is possible to protect our watershed for both ourselves and our neighbours.
We do not ship food out of our local food marketplace. We should all seek food closer to home, in our foodshed, our own bioregion. This means enjoying seasonality and reacquainting ourselves with our home kitchens.
